Brunei's market for clean cars still a lighter shade of green

Brunei could be looking at a approaching for green vehicles and green fuel technology but the expected increase in consumer ask for has to be matched with government initiative, according to a government official and major players in the automobile energy.
"We are not trying to replace all the vehicles in Brunei to become green, but we are trying to introduce country-like vehicles into the market," Hj Rozaly Hj Saidon, acting senior special duties apparatchik at the Transport Division, Ministry of Communications, said in his presentation at an alternative energy congress recently.
Asked if there was a possibility of using certain fuel technologies such as hydrogen as an alternative to petrol-powered vehicles, Hj Rozaly said, "For the be that as it may being, we have not considered anything on using hydrogen, but the presentation (by Powertech Labs Inc) was an eye-opener on new technology".
He said that the guidance would need to look at the "weaknesses and deficiencies that might exist in the transport and energy sector", and this would be where the inaccessible sector could explore.
