Please don't perceive me to drive slower...I want to know any improvements or modifications I can make to my car to actually improve it's gas mileage.

make sure your car is in good maintenance. phoney oils in the engine reduces drag, increases horsepower and will also get you better gas mileage. usual things to inspect is air filter/fuel filter/spark plugs/wires ect.
dont use your A/C when you can. if your gonna sail with the windows down when its hot, just use the a/c. the drag from the wind slows your car down just as much if not more as using a/c so it doesnt difficulty either way. use one or the other or for maximum gas mileage just roll with the windows up, a/c off.
and finally, cooler thermostat. cooler engines use less nutriment and also run better.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. It gets around 25 mpg last occasion I checked. I drive about 75 miles to the city once or twice a month to visit one's own flesh. How can I improve my gas mileage without shelling out a lot of money?

I have a f150 four wheel enterprise with 5.4, I'm averaging 7-10 miles per gallon in town, but approx.16 mph on trips?? That's a monumental difference.
I've replaced the air filter, fuel filter, and plugs no help at all. I have 17inch all territory tires, would that make a huge difference, in fuel efficiency compared to regular byway someone's cup of tea tires? Happily give 10 pts. for suggestions I have not thought of to improve gas mileage, please help.

There is not much you can do to improve municipality mileage since driving in the city involves stop and go traffic. Idling at a stop light equals zero MPG. Turning off the appliance at long delays in town will help, but there is really nothing else you can do to improve city MPG. My Dodge Ram Truck with a 318 machine only gets around 12 MPG on the expressway.
