When she was a sexual worker, Joanne Goldblum was shocked to learn that some of her clients were re-using diapers, because their official assistance did not cover this basic need for babies.
"You would see kids in diapers that you know they had been wearing all day, and the day before," said Goldblum, a look after of three who lives in New Haven, Conn . "And I saw parents empty diapers out and put them back on. Or leave diapers out to try to dry them out so they use them again."
