I have a new 08 Kia Optima. The proprietor's manual says to put 50% antifreeze and 50% soft, deionized water into the car's coolant system. But the water at my home is tough. I could get water softener, but I know that it contains NaCl that will corrode
Use distilled water.

(2) prevent boil overs.
If you use water with chemical in it, they will make the antifreeze chemicals and
deionized or distilled its both the same,
