Someone told me a narrative about dumping smelly liquid in the coolant reservoir or something that works with the air conditioner. I don't know if it's feasible. Do cars use water for the AC?

I have a astra 5dr hatchback 1.4 16v T leaf. but it seems to use quite abit of water. I have to fill the water tank every 2 weeks. Thing is I can't see any leaks anywahere What so ever.
I've never had this with any other car I've owned.
