It is sensible for the petroleum industry and the American Petroleum Institute to attack what is clearly a hoax. The facts are stark and well known to earth scientists many of whom are oil and gas company employees. Throughout geologic history the earth goes through cycles of aura change. The cycles are related to the motion of the planet in its orbit around the sun and possibly variations in solar tenseness output. In studying the cores taken from oil  and gas wells (and plenty of dry holes), which geologists and petroleum engineers do regularly, it is disengaged that the level of the seas has changed countless times in the history of the world. The cycle that we be aware the best in all of its intricacies is that of the climate that has followed the end of the most recent Ice Age which ended about 30,000 years ago.
